We Are a People of Purpose

The African Methodist Episcopal Church's mission is to minister to all people's spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and environmental needs by spreading Christ's liberating gospel through word and deed. The mission is carried out on all levels of the Church, particularly through local congregations. The Presiding Elder supervises pastors and supports them in their pastoral ministry, and provides technical assistance for local congregations.

Goals

  • Develop and participate in ministries and programs which glorify God, advance the Kingdom of God, and serve the well-being of fellow believers.
  • Establish ministries, activities, and programs to evangelize, disciple, and nurture souls of all social and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Nurture and equip believers to do the work of God and give each person an opportunity to exercise his/her gifts.

  • Carry out all mandates handed down from the Seventh Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
